Loud Electrolux Dryer - Easy Fix

A loud Electrolux dryer can be caused by a couple of issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check for loose items: Make sure there are no loose items like coins, keys or screws in the drum or lint trap. This can cause a rattling or banging noise.

2. Check the blower wheel: The blower wheel can become clogged with lint and debris, which can cause a loud rumbling noise. Clean the blower wheel thoroughly to ensure it is free from obstructions:

  • Unplug the dryer.
  • Lift up the lint filter.
  • Remove the screws holding on the plastic lint filter housing.  2 from the front and 2 inside the drum.(Put your head inside the drum so you can see the back of the housing to get to the screws)
  • Using a small flashlight look into the plastic vanes of the blower wheel for lint.
  • Use a straightened wire clothes hanger or a vacuum cleaner with a small attachment to fish out all the lint.
  • Rotate the drum slightly by hand to expose the next couple of plastic vanes and repeat this process until all the lint is removed.
  • Reassemble the filter housing.
  • Replace the filter.

Now when you try the dryer the rumble should be gone.
