Bosch Dishwasher - Won’t Drain - E24 & E25 Error - Easy Fixes

The E24 & E25 error code on a Bosch dishwasher indicates a blockage in the drain pump or the drain hose. It can also be caused by a loose impeller cover. Here are the steps to fix it:

 1. Turn off the power to the dishwasher by unplugging it or switching off the circuit breaker.

2.  Check and clean the dishwasher drain air gap:

Locate the air gap, which is a small cylindrical device typically located at the back of the sink or countertop.

Remove the chrome cover of the air gap by twisting it gently counterclockwise.

Inspect the plastic tube that connects the air gap to the garbage disposal or sink drain. Check for clogs, kinks or bends that could be causing the blockage.

Clean the tube using a pipe cleaner, wire or a long brush to remove any debris or food particles that may have accumulated.  Here’s a great tool for cleaning out your Dishwasher Drain tube and Air-Gap.

Reassemble the air gap and replace the cover. sure that the drain is free of blockage.

3. Check the drain hose for damage, kinks, or clogs. You may need to detach it from the garbage disposal and/or sink drain tube to do so.

4. If the impeller cover on your Bosch dishwasher is loose, it may cause problems with the dishwasher draining and give you E24 and E25 errors. Here are the steps to fix the loose impeller cover:

Turn off the power to the dishwasher by unplugging it or switching off the power at the circuit breaker.

Remove the bottom dish rack and filter to gain access to the dishwasher's impeller cover.

Examine the white plastic impeller cover to see if it is loose.

If it’s not loose, pry the upper part off with a flathead screwdriver and remove it to allow you to check the impeller. Test the drain pump impeller and motor to ensure they are working properly. You can do this by manually turning the impeller to see if it moves freely, you can move it with your finger.  If it’s stuck, there’s probably a small piece of glass stuck below it. You can use a sponge to get rid of the water and then use a small screwdriver or needle nose pliers to fish it out what ever is sticking the impeller. Then you can click the plastic cover back in place.

If the impeller cover is loose, you just need to click it back into place. Push it down as far as it will go and then click the top of it into place by pushing it hard toward you.  You should hear and feel an audible click when it’s seated correctly. I sometimes use the flat head of a screwdriver to force the plastic tab at the top into the small opening at the top of the grey plastic sump.   This should eliminate the E24 and E25 errors.

5. Once the impeller cover is tightened, replace the bottom dish rack and turn the power back on to the dishwasher.

6. Reassemble everything and turn on the power to the dishwasher. Run a cycle to make sure the error code is no longer displayed and the dishwasher is working properly. If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact me at: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
